Terms of Service

Version 1.0 - Last updated September 2026

1. Who can use Scavy

Scavy is for adults 18 and older only. By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18, and that any information you give us (including your date of birth) is accurate. We may suspend or remove any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.

2. What Scavy actually is

Scavy helps you discover and connect with real people nearby, and encourages you to meet them in person. Scavy is not a dating service, does not perform background checks on users, and cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or behavior of anyone you meet through the app.

Meeting anyone in person carries real risk, the same as meeting anyone else you don't already know. You are solely responsible for your own safety when meeting other Scavengers. Always meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and trust your judgment - our safety guidelines exist to help, not to replace your own caution.

3. Your conduct

By using Scavy, you agree that you will not:

  • Harass, threaten, or deceive other Scavengers.
  • Impersonate another person, or create a false profile.
  • Use Scavy to solicit money, sell products, or spam.
  • Attempt to bypass, tamper with, or trick our verification, points, or matching systems.
  • Use Scavy if you have been previously banned from it.

We can suspend or permanently remove any account that violates these terms or our safety guidelines, at our discretion, with or without notice.

4. Real-world verification

Scavy confirms two people actually met by matching a short-lived code with both people's location at that moment. We use your location only at the instant you verify a meetup - we do not track or store your ongoing location, and your exact coordinates are never shown to the other person, to us in any browsable form, or to anyone else.

5. Scavy Points and achievements

Scavy Points, achievements, and your Social Potential score are for fun and engagement only. They have no cash value, cannot be purchased, sold, transferred, or redeemed for money or goods, and we may adjust, reset, or discontinue them at any time.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post - your profile photo, bio, interests, and messages. By posting it, you give Scavy permission to store and display it to other Scavengers as needed for the app to work (for example, showing your photo on a Discovery card). You're responsible for anything you post, and it must be your own, truthful, and not violate anyone else's rights.

7. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your profile and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. No warranty, limitation of liability

Scavy is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any connection you make through it will be safe or successful. To the fullest extent the law allows, Scavy and its team are not liable for any harm, loss, injury, or dispute arising from your use of the app or from meeting anyone through it, including in-person interactions between users. You use Scavy, and you meet other Scavengers, at your own risk.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Scavy grows. If a change is material, we'll ask you to review and accept it again before you can keep using the app.
